NASA’s Juno Prepares for Launch

NASA's Juno

NASA’s Juno spacecraft is entering the final stages prior to launch on August 5th, 2011. Juno is NASA’s first of three planetary missions launching this year. The principal goal for Juno is to understand the origin and evolution of Jupiter. Jupiter’s dense cloud cover safeguards the secrets to the fundamental processes and conditions that governed our solar system during it’s formation. Jupiter can provide critical knowledge for understanding the planetary systems being discovered around other stars.
