Mission:
Under the sponsorship of NASA's agency-wide Robotics Alliance Project
(RAP), we are in the process of establishing the NASA Robotics Curriculum
Clearinghouse (RCC) with the mission of disseminating high quality robotics
curricula to educators everywhere, all the time
Goal:
Our primary goal is to offer to educators an online collection of featured
robotics curricula ranging from full courses to single lesson plans
that can be readily incorporated into classroom activities.
Objectives:
Support lifelong learning and career pursuits relating to robotics
Inspire interest and excellence in science, technology, engineering
and math (STEM)
Support preparation for participation in robotics educational programs
and competitive events.
Approach:
Building the RCC collection begins with harvesting, screening and analyzing
existing state-of-the-art online robotics educational materials.
Following detailed RCC processing, these are sent out to our team of
independent professional robotics educators for copious review.
Upon receiving and analyzing the results of three-party reviews, a determination
is made regarding readiness for inclusion in the RCC collection.
For each successful curriculum candidate, the RCC team adds detailed
front-end information, prepares the item for search capability via
the RCC site, and enters it to the RCC online collection.
For unsuccessful curriculum candidates, the RCC team may pursue
enhancement and enrichment of the material by it's original provider,
then re-enter the item for a second round of reviews.
At no time does NASA "endorse," take possession of, nor
imply credit for any curricula within the RCC collection. We harvest,
screen, review, add search information, point to the original material
(via its URL), and cite appropriate authorship of its providers.
