Frequently Asked Questions....

How do I register for the Robot Cooking class?

No registration is necessary. Individual educators simply need to tune each computer into the home page on September 8th. We recommend you submit your contact information into our mailing list database (see home page link) so we may update you on any changes that we might have.

How much will this course cost?

It's free!! We want students to be inspired by real projects involving science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

What's the minimum I need to do before September 8th?

Before the start of the class, you will need to have all Ingredients in order to build your robots. Make sure everything is easily available for students once the course begins.

Before you sit down to view the live webcast, make sure you have RealMedia or WindowsMedia software downloaded onto your computer. You can find a link to download these on the Webcast Info link on the menu. Please also note our recommendations to ensure the best viewing possible of the lectures.

How exactly does this work when I sit down for the webcast?

At the time of each live lecture, please access the Robotics Education Project home page at http://robotics.nasa.gov/courses/robotcooking/index.php. There will be a link at the top to the lecture of the day that will direct you to the entrance page for the Cooking class. Here you will choose to watch with Real Media or Windows Media player. Press continue to enter the screen from which you will watch the lecture. Before it begins, we suggest you Connect to the chat room area (make up any user name) in order to ask the lecturer questions. We will receive questions at any time throughout the lecture, and they will likely be answered during the presentation or at the end of the 45 minute presentation period. You may need to press the play button on the media player and transcript in order to initiate these features.

Be sure to check out Webcast Info on the menu before viewing for optimal viewing and effiecient troubleshooting.
